Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Distribution Clerk in New Jersey to ensure accurate shipping and receiving, coordinating with the Transportation Department on freight schedules. The role involves data entry, documentation, and physical tasks such as loading/unloading with forklift or crane, while maintaining inventory accuracy and security at dock doors.

You will work Mon-Fri, 10:00 am–6:30 pm, and collaborate with the Warehouse/Transportation teams to meet capacity and operational needs.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: 1-2 years in shipping/receiving.
• Experience with shipping/receiving operations and Microsoft Office.
• Good judgment and decision-making; strong communication skills.
• Basic math skills; ability to operate forklift, crane and truck as needed.

Responsibilities

• Schedule inbound/outbound freight with Warehouse or Transportation Manager.
• Ensure labels and tickets are applied before shipping.
• Maintain security at dock doors and assist loading/unloading.
• Enter data into systems and ensure records are accurate.
• Verify receiving/shipping counts match documents and resolve discrepancies.
• Direct pallet control, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy.
