Utz Quality Foods in Hanover, PA is seeking a Guard Shack Clerk for the Week Night Shift to join our logistics team. You’ll split time between the guard shack and the distribution office, managing gate activity and coordinating with drivers and warehouse staff.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, structured environment with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in distribution, shipping/receiving, or warehouse administration is preferred.
• Proficient with logistics software and MS Office.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

• Able to rotate between office and guard shack environments.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in incoming truck drivers, verify documentation and load details in Blue Yonder
• Manage inbound and outbound dock appointments and maintain shipping/receiving records
• Rotate between the office and guard shack, requiring organization and multitasking
• Upload and process shipping documents daily in our TMS
• Release loads and prioritize tasks based on input from warehouse leadership
• Provide support and clear direction to drivers on site
• Maintain order, safety, and accuracy in both guard and administrative functions
• Communicate effectively across departments to ensure flow of goods remains efficient

Guard Shack Clerk – Week Night Shift – Hanover, PA

Do you thrive in roles that balance independence with teamwork? Utz Quality Foods is continuing to grow, and we’re looking for a Guard Shack Clerk to join our logistics and distribution team on the Week Night Shift at our Hanover, PA facility.

This full-time position runs Monday though Thursday, 5:30 PM to 5:30 AM, supporting around-the-clock operations that keep our products moving efficiently. You’ll split your time between the guard shack and the distribution office, helping to manage gate activity, verify documentation, and maintain smooth coordination between drivers and warehouse staff.

You’ll work closely with another clerk in a two-person team, where dependability, communication, and attention to detail are key. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and enjoys contributing to a structured yet fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Dependable, professional, and able to work independently
• Flexibility to rotate between indoor office work and a more autonomous guard shack environment
