Job summary

CVS Health Lumberton, NJ distribution center is seeking an experienced Safety Leader to develop and manage safety, health, and environmental programs. You will lead investigations, enforce compliance, and drive continuous improvement across the site to protect employees and ensure safe operations.

The role requires strong knowledge of safety regulations, incident management, and training program leadership, with a focus on Kaizen-driven improvements and collaboration with corporate HSE teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in safety, environmental, or occupational health.
• Strong knowledge of workplace safety regulations and best practices.
• Experience conducting incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Ability to lead safety initiatives, training programs, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement safety, health, and environmental (HSE) programs, policies, and procedures.
• Foster a proactive safety culture through behavior-based safety initiatives and employee engagement.
• Conduct safety assessments, hazard recognition activities, gap analyses, and Gemba walks.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts and support safety-related Kaizen events.
• Chair Safety Task Force meetings and provide safety leadership across the site.
• Monitor safety performance metrics and develop action plans to improve results.
• Manage incident and injury investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Support and oversee powered industrial truck (forklift) training and certification programs.
• Ensure effective pre-shift stretching and warm-up programs.
• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
• Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and collaborate with corporate HSE and Legal teams.
• Lead and manage compliance-related projects from start to completion.
• Partner with leadership teams to balance operational success with employee safety.
