Abercrombie & Fitch Co. Distribution Center is seeking a Project Engineer to drive automation and facility improvements across our distribution network.

You will coordinate capital projects from planning through handoff, partnering with Operations, Facilities, Safety, Procurement, Finance, Technology, and external vendors. The role requires a bachelor's in a related field and 2+ years' experience in engineering or continuous improvement in distribution or manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in engineering, automation, facility, capital, or continuous improvement projects in distribution/logistics/manufacturing environments.
• Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, budgets, schedules, purchasing activities, and project execution.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate facility, infrastructure, automation, and capital projects from planning through handoff.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, approvals, vendors, contractors, POs, invoices, risks, and stakeholder communications.
• Support distribution center modernization initiatives, including automation, RFID, print & apply, material handling equipment, robotics, and other warehouse technologies.
• Assist with evaluating and implementing automation solutions such as AS/RS, Goods-to-Person systems, sortation equipment, AMRs, and AGVs.
• Partner with Operations and Technology teams to support system integration, operational readiness, and successful project execution.

Job Description:The Distribution Center Project Associate Engineer supports engineering, automation, facility, capital, and continuous improvement initiatives across A&F's distribution network. This role partners with Operations, Facilities, Safety, Procurement, Finance, Technology, and external vendors to deliver projects that improve productivity, operational readiness, equipment reliability, and distribution center capabilities.What Will You Be DoingCoordinate facility, infrastructure, automation, and capital projects from planning through implementation and operational handoff.Manage project schedules, budgets, approvals, vendors, contractors, purchase orders, invoices, risks, and stakeholder communications.Support distribution center modernization initiatives, including automation, RFID, print & apply, material handling equipment, robotics, and other warehouse technologies.Assist with the evaluation and implementation of automation solutions such as AS/RS, Goods-to-Person systems, sortation equipment, AMRs, and AGVs.Partner with Operations and Technology teams to support system integration, operational readiness, and successful project execution.Analyze operational performance and labor productivity to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.Support peak readiness activities, capital planning, and future network investments.What Do You Need to Bring?Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.2+ years of experience supporting engineering, automation, facility, capital, or continuous improvement projects in distribution, logistics, manufacturing, fulfillment, or similar environments.Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, project budgets, schedules, purchasing activities, and project execution.Knowledge & SkillsKnowledge of warehouse operations, material handling equipment, facility infrastructure, and industrial engineering principles.Familiarity with distribution center technologies, including automation, RFID, robotics, sortation systems, WMS, WES, labor management systems, and operational analytics tools.Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.Ability to manage multiple priorities, identify risks, and drive projects to completion.Effective communication and relationship-building skills with internal stakeholders and external partners.Comfortable working in an active distribution center environment while balancing planning and execution.Safety-focused, detail-oriented, and motivated to deliver measurable operational improvements.Success in This RoleSuccess in this role is measured by the ability to safely deliver projects, improve operational performance, strengthen distribution center capabilities, and serve as a trusted engineering partner to Operations and Supply Chain leadership.
