Job summary

Responsibilities include coordinating capital projects, managing budgets and schedules, and evaluating automation solutions such as AS/RS and AMRs. You will help drive operational improvements and readiness across DCs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Construction Management, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• At least 2 years supporting engineering, automation, facility, or continuous improvement projects in distribution, logistics, manufacturing, fulfillment, or similar environments.
• Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, project budgets, schedules, purchasing activities, and project execution.

• Assist with the evaluation and implementation of automation solutions such as AS/RS, Goods-to-Person systems, sortation equipment, AMRs, and AGVs.
• Partner with Operations and Technology teams to support system integration, operational readiness, and successful project execution.
• Analyze operational performance and labor productivity to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
• Support peak readiness activities, capital planning, and future network investments.

Job Description

The Distribution Center Project Associate Engineer supports engineering, automation, facility, capital, and continuous improvement initiatives across A&F's distribution network.

This role partners with Operations, Facilities, Safety, Procurement, Finance, Technology, and external vendors to deliver projects that improve productivity, operational readiness, equipment reliability, and distribution center capabilities.

What Will You Be Doing

What Do You Need to Bring?

• Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 2+ years of experience supporting engineering, automation, facility, capital, or continuous improvement projects in distribution, logistics, manufacturing, fulfillment, or similar environments.
• Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, project budgets, schedules, purchasing activities, and project execution.
• Knowledge & Skills Knowledge of warehouse operations, material handling equipment, facility infrastructure, and industrial engineering principles.
• Familiarity with distribution center technologies, including automation, RFID, robotics, sortation systems, WMS, WES, labor management systems, and operational analytics tools.
• Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, identify risks, and drive projects to completion.
• Effective communication and relationship-building skills with internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Comfortable working in an active distribution center environment while balancing planning and execution.
• Safety-focused, detail-oriented, and motivated to deliver measurable operational improvements.
