Job summary

SanMar is seeking a Distribution Center Supervisor in Ashland, VA to oversee receiving, storage, order fulfillment and shipping functions. You will provide daily guidance to hourly staff, coach performance, and support cross-department collaboration to meet productivity and quality goals.

The role requires 4–6 years of warehouse experience with 1–3 years in a lead or supervisory capacity, and the ability to communicate clearly in English; Spanish bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 4-6 years of warehouse experience.
• 1-3 years as a lead or supervisor.
• Ability to read, write, and identify colors, sizes, quantity, label and SKU information.
• Willingness to read and communicate with customers.

Responsibilities

• Identify and coordinate daily activities to achieve productive results.
• Oversee all aspects of the distribution center for accurate, timely processing.
• Provide day-to-day direction and development to hourly staff, including coaching and performance feedback.
• Conduct annual performance appraisals and provide ongoing feedback on performance.
• Interview and hire new employees.
• Collaborate across departments to drive productivity.
• Analyze business and performance metrics to develop solutions, programs and policies.
• Foster an environment that respects diverse backgrounds.
• Address employee needs with professionalism and respect.
• Manage difficult employee situations professionally.
