Job summary

SanMar is seeking an Inventory Control associate in Ashland, VA to maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, aisle verification, and correction of discrepancies in our fast-paced Distribution Center.

You will operate RF scanners and powered lift equipment, use High Jump for audits, follow slotting plans, and communicate with leadership to ensure data integrity and safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of warehouse experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write and identify colors, sizes, quantities, labels and SKUs.
• Basic math skills for counting and quantities.
• Must complete and maintain SanMar Lift Operator Certification every three years.
• Familiarity with High Jump and related systems.
• Demonstrate accuracy and ability to follow directions and adapt to priorities.
• Willingness to rotate to other production functions as needed.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Follow slotting plans to locate product in the distribution center.
• Use High Jump to perform inventory audits and aisle maintenance.
• Correct discrepancies such as damaged product and incorrect LPNs.
• Complete accurate cycle counts in High Bay and AutoStore using RF scanners.
• Ensure data entered into High Jump is accurate.
• Communicate daily with leadership and coworkers to manage inventory.
• Create and execute slotting plans to locate product efficiently.
• Operate powered lift equipment to move product as needed.
• Maintain a safe, neat and clean work area per safety regs.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with policies.
