Job summary

Foot Locker, Inc. is seeking an Area Manager to lead the weekend shift Training team at the Junction City, KS distribution center.

You will oversee safety, efficiency, and team performance while delivering results in a fast-paced environment. The role requires 2+ years of leadership experience in a distribution center setting, strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of leadership experience, distribution center environment preferred.
• Strong reasoning, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across levels within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coach your team to achieve daily operational goals.
• Ensure compliance to EHS, quality, and employee relations standards.
• Utilize Lean Six Sigma tools to drive process improvements, reduce waste, and optimize cost and product integrity.
• Foster accountability, engagement, and teamwork.
• Lead daily shift start-up meetings and contribute in daily production meetings.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and support financial planning processes.
• Manage labor plans and daily demands; make real-time decisions to optimize service and cost.
• Participate in audits and resolve findings effectively.
• Support hiring and talent development within your department.
• Troubleshoot WMS issues and support system improvements.

• Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and teamwork
• Lead your team's daily shift start-up meetings and actively contribute input during the site's daily production meetings
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and support financial planning process
• Manage labor plans and daily demands, making real-time decisions to optimize service and cost
• Participate in internal and external audits and resolve findings effectively
• Support hiring and talent development within your department
• Troubleshoot WMS issues and support system improvements

Qualifications

• 2+ years of leadership experience, distribution center environment preferred
• Comprehensive experience working with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
• Strong reasoning, analytical, and organizational skills
• Teamwork and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with different levels within the organization

Preferred

• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma preferred
• Previous working knowledge of automated DC Systems and current RF technology preferred

Benefits

The annual base salary range is $70,000 - $90,000 / yr. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below.
