Job summary

Electra Grid Solutions is seeking a Distribution Lineman A to install, repair, and maintain overhead and underground electrical power lines. This is the highest level of a multi-step progression from Apprentice to Journeyman Lineman, with leadership duties for lower-level crew members.

Responsibilities include climbing, fault-locating, line routing, and operating hot-line tools with proper PPE. Travel long distances, work extended hours and in all weather conditions while mentoring Apprentices

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Journeyman-level experience with overhead and underground distribution systems.
• CDL Class A license required and must be maintained while in position.
• Current First Aid, CPR, and Pole Top Rescue certifications required.
• DOT physical examination required.

Responsibilities

• String, splice, transfer, and sag wire in energized and de-energized circuits.
• Climb poles and structures using proper gear; work at heights.
• Use fault-locating equipment and perform line routing.
• Install, repair, and remove crossarms, insulators, transformers, and meters.
• Perform line switching, sectionalizing, and emergency repairs.
• Inspect equipment for damage; report hazards and deficiencies.
• Mentor Apprentices and junior crew members.
• Travel long distances on short notice; work extended hours and weekends.
