Job summary

3M is seeking an Application Engineer (Display & Electronics Product Platform) to join the R&D group in Pune, India. You will collaborate with global teams to develop and replicate high-impact applications for consumer and industrial electronics, and to identify the best 3M solutions for customer needs.

You will lead launch support with documentation, demos, and training materials, while building lab infrastructure and coordinating equipment procurement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in engineering with Materials science, electronics, physics or chemistry as major.
• Minimum 5 years in R&D, product development, or applications engineering; customer-facing electronics experience preferred.
• Experience with tapes, adhesives, conductive materials, TIM; knowledge of converting processes like die-cutting and slitting is a plus.
• Design-in and solutions development: engage OEM and Tier-1 teams to interpret requirements and support design-win cycles.
• Hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and on-site support to ensure successful integration of 3M solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with global teams to develop and replicate high-impact electronic applications.
• Identify best 3M solutions by understanding customer needs, testing, and trial results; communicate findings to customers and teams.
• Present and train customers on the full 3M Display and Electronics portfolio at meetings, conferences, and events.
• Generate documentation, demos, videos, and training materials to support new product launches.
• Build lab infrastructure and plan equipment needs; coordinate procurement with engineering teams.
• Provide training to 3M teams, distributors, and customers; develop training calendars and modules.
• Travel 30–40% domestically to support customers and field teams.
