Job Summary

This position on the Jarco Aggregates team involves entering customer orders into the delivery system accurately, promptly, and professionally. The dispatcher should be a problem solver, capable of fostering lasting customer relationships, and committed to delivering high levels of customer service. Work will be performed under the supervision's guidance, with independence for routine tasks and supervision for complex jobs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Plan daily load activities and assign work to drivers and independent contractors.
  2. Coordinate with the sales team to meet customer loading and delivery demands.
  3. Address problems and requests via phone and electronic messaging.
  4. Monitor truck routes and statuses to coordinate and prioritize schedules.
  5. Provide real-time information about orders, traffic, obstacles, and customer requirements.
  6. Maintain dispatch records, load activity, and other relevant data entries.
  7. Interact professionally with drivers, acting as an advocate and coach.
  8. Monitor drivers’ hours of service and adjust dispatch instructions accordingly.
  9. Promote safety, compliance, and productivity through coaching, counseling, and mentoring.
  10. Assist field operations and other departments as needed, demonstrating teamwork.
  11. Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  12. Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  13. Perform any additional tasks to support and improve team operations.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience in dispatching material hauling or similar industry experience.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and dispatch software.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal DOT regulations for drivers.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective decision-making skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multitask and resolve conflicts efficiently.
Supervisory Responsibilities

None

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 4-5 years of material hauler/dispatch experience.
  • 2-3 years in a dispatch supervisor role.
  • Customer service experience of at least 2 years.
  • Computer literacy for at least 6 years.
  • Valid driver’s license with appropriate endorsements and a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Work hours may be up to 10-12 hours per day, Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays.
  • Regularly sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about the facility.
  • Sitting for extended periods may be required.
Work Environment
  • Location: Corporate Headquarters
  • Background checks and drug tests are required.
  • Valid driver’s license with endorsements and a clean record is necessary.
  • Work is primarily in an office environment, with potential exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, and oils.
  • Additional hours outside the regular schedule may be required.
