Summary
The Haven for Hope Life Safety Dispatcher position involves skilled emergency service work, including receiving emergency 911 and non-emergency police assistance requests, determining call urgency, initiating appropriate responses, and maintaining contact with field units to monitor responses and support needs.
This role requires initiative and judgment in responding to emotionally disturbed or abusive individuals in various situations. Work may be performed independently or with other dispatchers, and may include assisting in training and equipment management.
The position requires rotating shifts and overtime to ensure 24-hour coverage. Initial training occurs during daytime hours for 2-3 weeks, followed by a primary schedule of 12-hour overnight shifts from 6 PM to 6 AM.
