Job description

Overview

Maintain fuel availability at the company's and customers' 500+ tank locations. Monitor tank fuel levels and determine appropriate purchasing and delivery cycles to ensure 100% site fuel availability. Forecast tank usage, project next delivery, select terminal sources, and optimize purchase prices. Dispatch loads to drivers and outside haulers for execution.

Responsibilities

• Monitor 500+ fuel tank locations by product
• Forecast site/product usage and project next delivery to maintain 100% fuel availability
• Select optimal terminal source based on forecasted deliveries
• Evaluate terminal pricing to optimize vendor purchases
• Ensure delivery capacity of drivers and outside haulers based on forecasted needs
• Dispatch purchasing and delivery assignments
• Resolve terminal purchase discrepancies and product outages
• Reconcile deliveries with dispatch orders
• Manage dispatch operations within safety standards and DOT regulations to minimize site run-outs
• Handle nightly pricing routines, including creating and distributing the best buy pricing workbook

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience/education
• 3–5 years experience in dispatch, logistics, or route planning (preferred)
• Decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Strong analytical skills for forecasting fuel needs and optimizing routes and purchases
• Knowledge of DOT hours of service regulations
• Effective communication skills with drivers and outside haulers
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
• Accuracy and excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in dispatch software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus
• Experience with dispatch and route optimization tools is a plus
• Petroleum industry experience is a plus

Normal hours: T&P operates 24/7; dispatch work primarily during staggered dayshift with rotating night on-call and weekend shifts.
