Job summary

Spec Corp in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Dispatcher to coordinate deliveries, process orders, and provide pricing and product information to customers. You will be the customer's first point of contact and help ensure accurate order entry and on-time shipments.

This full-time, in-person role requires scheduling, supervising drivers and loaders, and maintaining DOT compliance paperwork while supporting sales and account development.

Qualifications

Experience in building materials sales and order processing.
Ability to coordinate deliveries and scheduling.
Experience supervising drivers and loaders.
Familiarity with DOT compliance paperwork.
Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Sell building materials from the customer service counter.
Maintain and grow existing customer base through prospecting and follow-up.
Source special order items for contractors.
Ensure all customer sales orders are entered complete and accurate.
Advise customers on inventory levels and pricing.
Cash application and reporting.
Answer the phone and direct calls.
Schedule deliveries and respond to customer questions.
Supervise drivers and loaders.
Schedule outgoing freight.
Keep trucks DOT compliant and complete daily paperwork.

Job description

The SPEC Dispatcher is responsible for delivery coordination, order placement, general sales information and product requirements, pricing, , and more. Most often they are the customer’s first point of contact.

Position Responsibilities

Selling building materials to our customers from the customer service counter
Maintaining and growing existing customer base through prospecting, sales account development, quoting, and customer follow-up.
Sourcing special order items for our contractors.
Ensuring all customer sales orders are imputed complete and accurate.
Advising customers on inventory levels and pricing.
Cash application and reporting.
Answering the phone and directing calls.
Scheduling and answering questions regarding deliveries for customers.
Supervise a team of drivers & loaders
Schedule outgoing freight
Keep trucks DOT compliant as well as completing all paperwork daily
