Job summary

L.K. Jordan & Associates in Southwest Houston is seeking a Dispatcher to coordinate daily delivery routes for a five-truck fleet. You will work with the Warehouse Manager and Shipping Department to ensure accurate, timely deliveries and outstanding customer service in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and dispatch daily routes for five trucks, maximizing efficiency and on-time deliveries.
• Monitor driver locations and delivery progress using GPS or tracking systems.
• Communicate route changes, delays, and urgent updates to drivers throughout the day.
• Coordinate with warehouse and shipping teams to confirm order accuracy, loading readiness, shipment priorities, and pickup and delivery schedules.
• Communicate shortages, delays, and operational issues to the appropriate departments.
• Respond to customer inquiries about delivery status and scheduling, and proactively communicate delivery windows or changes.
• Resolve delivery concerns and customer complaints professionally.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, driver assignments, manifests, load sheets, and dispatch records.
• Track delivery performance and report issues or opportunities to improve route efficiency.
• Monitor truck availability, maintenance needs, and driver schedules.
• Reinforce safety procedures and support shipping operations with paperwork, data entry, and coordination as needed.
