Job summary

Scion Staffing has partnered with a Southern California essential-services company to recruit a Dispatcher for overnight operations in Garden Grove, CA. The role focuses on coordinating routes, supporting drivers, and ensuring efficient, compliant deliveries during the night shift from approx.

10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The Dispatcher will liaise with, and support, sales, maintenance, billing, and operations teams while maintaining shift notes and records.

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Dispatcher for our partner, an established essential-services company supporting commercial transportation and delivery operations throughout Southern California. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire position in Garden Grove, CA , working the night shift from approximately 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM .

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Dispatcher will play a critical role in coordinating overnight delivery operations and ensuring drivers have the information and support needed to complete routes safely and efficiently. This position combines dispatching, customer service, route coordination, driver communication, compliance tracking, and real-time problem solving. The ideal candidate is an organized and confident communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively manage changing priorities throughout the shift.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate daily delivery routes, enter customer orders, and provide drivers with locations, loading information, route instructions, and other details necessary to complete deliveries.
• Maintain consistent communication with drivers while monitoring dispatch platforms, GPS, cameras, routes, and driver activity throughout the shift.
• Anticipate and respond to delivery delays, route changes, equipment concerns, customer issues, and other operational challenges while keeping appropriate teams informed.
• Monitor driver hours of service and required driver, vehicle, and safety documentation while documenting and escalating incidents according to established procedures.
• Partner with Sales, Maintenance, Billing, and other internal teams to address customer needs, vehicle readiness, paperwork, and operational requirements.
• Maintain accurate shift notes and records, support dispatch and routing systems, provide drivers with necessary equipment and materials, and assist with additional operational needs as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Dispatch, transportation, logistics, delivery operations, customer service, or other relevant coordination experience; fuel delivery experience is highly valued.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively support drivers, customers, and internal teams.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail with the ability to monitor multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with dispatch, routing, GPS, transportation, or fleet-management technology; knowledge of DOT/HOS requirements is a plus.
• Ability to consistently work the overnight schedule, including shifts that may extend based on operational needs, and participate in weekend on-call coverage as required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This full-time opportunity offers $30–$35 per hour , based on experience and qualifications. The position provides a consistent overnight schedule and the opportunity to join an established organization in a critical operations role supporting daily transportation and delivery services.
