Job summary

DocGo is seeking an overnight Dispatcher in Dover, DE to join our emergency response team. You will receive and triage calls, dispatch ambulances, and coordinate EMTs and nurses to ensure patient care safety and timeliness.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, EMS/clinical dispatch experience, and strong English communication. Weekend availability and a night-shift differential are expected. Competitive benefits are included.

Responsibilities

• Receive, prioritize, and dispatch calls in the CAD system.
• Dispatch ambulances to scheduled runs ensuring appropriate transport level.
• Coordinate the work and activities of EMTs, Paramedics, and Nurses.
• Provide top-tier customer service to medical facilities, the public, and our EMTs, Paramedics, and Nurses.
• Greet patients professionally and maintain a courteous office demeanor.
• Handle a large call volume and triage to determine the appropriate level of care.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Be a team player, as EMS is a team effort, and providers must provide necessary assistance to ensure system readiness and adherence to quality assurance standards.
• Be flexible as emergency services operate on a 24-hour clock - your work shift schedule may vary due to the nature of the business.
• Coordinate the Work and Activities of EMTs, Paramedics, and Nurses.
• Conduct yourself in a courteous, helpful, and professional manner at all times when dealing with patients, co-workers, supervisors, and or the public.
• Receive, prioritize, and dispatch calls in the CAD system.
• Provide top-tier customer service to medical facilities, the public, and our EMTs, Paramedics, and Nurses.
• Gather patient billing information and appropriate billing signatures.
• Roll up your sleeves and get things done!
• Maintain a professional demeanor in the office and while on the phone with customers.
• Dispatch ambulances to scheduled runs to ensure appropriate medical level of transport care to area facilities.
• Intakes a large call volume, triages to determine the appropriate level of care and coordinates transport.
• Other tasks assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Proven experience as a dispatcher in a relevant field (EMS/ Clinical background is preferred)
• DE EMT certification preferred
• Tech-savvy with knowledge of computer aided dispatch software (CAD)
• Proficient in English (oral and written)
• Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
• Active listener with excellent communication skills
• Sound judgement and critical thinking
