Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking a Dispatcher to coordinate driver routes for Residential, Roll-off and Commercial services in Ohio. You will receive customer calls, assign work orders, and monitor operations to ensure safe, timely service while maintaining DOT compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in waste industry preferred (Roll Off, Residential and Commercial)
• 1 year of Administrative Assistance or similar experience preferred
• Ability to read maps and give directions
• Must handle a heavy call volume professionally
• Must be able to read and speak English

Responsibilities

• Dispatch work orders to drivers via radio or phone
• Provide dispatch coverage for other lines of business during absences and breaks
• Receive calls and handle each with appropriate communication and action
• Troubleshoot and resolve service, pick-up and/or delivery issues
• Assist management with daily activities of route drivers and ensure routes are completed
• Assign live loads to drivers based on designated route or driver locations
• Dispatch work orders and perform data entry into computer system
• Monitor drivers through GPS system GeoTab
• Act as emergency contact for drivers and communicate with maintenance department for driver issues
• Manage missed stops with customers and drivers to resolve issues
• Assist with assigning and tracking daily work orders
• Ensure drivers complete paperwork in accordance with DOT regulations
• Maintain and update route sheets
• Assist with monitoring driver hours per DOT regulations
• Interact professionally with internal and external customers
• Perform other duties as assigned
