White Cap in Montgomery, AL, is hiring a Dispatch Manager to lead the delivery team and ensure efficient, on-time transfers across our branch network. You will supervise drivers and dispatchers, optimize routes, and uphold safety standards in daily operations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manages, recruits, and hires all Delivery Drivers and Dispatchers.
• Ensures delivery trucks are loaded and operated in compliance with safety standards.
• Routes drivers effectively to meet planned and unplanned delivery commitments.
• Maintains vehicle fleet and coordinates with the Warehouse.
• Collaborates with Inside Sales to resolve delivery issues and reroute as needed.
• Maintains expert knowledge of the branch delivery area geography.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

A Dispatch Manager at White Cap...

• Manages, recruits, and hires all Delivery Drivers and Dispatchers.

• Ensures delivery trucks are loaded and operated in compliance with all safety standards.

• Ensures Drivers are routed effectively to meet planned and unplanned delivery commitments.

• Ensures vehicle fleet is properly maintained.

• Minimizes turn-around times through direct supervision of Drivers.

• Works with Warehouse Manager to ensure seamless integration of Delivery and Warehouse operations and proper inventory controls.

• Works closely with Inside Sales and Account Managers to resolve delivery issues, reroute trucks and make unplanned vendor pickups.

• Develops and maintains expert knowledge of the branch delivery area geography.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Generally has 7+ years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior supervisory experience

• Experience with routing software.

• Experience with DOT regulations and driver safety programs.
