Job summary

White Cap is hiring a Dispatch Manager in Kansas City, MO. The role leads delivery drivers and dispatchers, ensuring safe, timely deliveries and efficient routing across the branch area.

You will coordinate with warehouse and sales teams to resolve delivery issues, manage driver safety, and maintain fleet operations while supporting continuous growth and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with routing software.
• Experience with DOT regulations and driver safety programs.
• 7+ years of experience in a dispatch/operations role.

Responsibilities

• Manages, recruits, and hires all Delivery Drivers and Dispatchers.
• Ensures delivery trucks are loaded and operated in compliance with safety standards.
• Routes drivers to meet planned and unplanned delivery commitments.
• Maintains vehicle fleet and ensures proper maintenance.
• Minimizes turnaround times through direct supervision of Drivers.
• Collaborates with Warehouse Manager to integrate Delivery and Warehouse operations.
• Works with Inside Sales and Account Managers to resolve delivery issues.
• Develops and maintains knowledge of the branch delivery area geography.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

A Dispatch Manager at White Cap...

• Manages, recruits, and hires all Delivery Drivers and Dispatchers.

• Ensures Drivers are routed effectively to meet planned and unplanned delivery commitments.

• Ensures vehicle fleet is properly maintained.

• Minimizes turn-around times through direct supervision of Drivers.

• Works with Warehouse Manager to ensure seamless integration of Delivery and Warehouse operations and proper inventory controls.

• Works closely with Inside Sales and Account Managers to resolve delivery issues, reroute trucks and make unplanned vendor pickups.

• Develops and maintains expert knowledge of the branch delivery area geography.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Generally has 7+ years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior supervisory experience

• Experience with routing software.

• Experience with DOT regulations and driver safety programs.
