Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Dispatcher to coordinate transport services, schedule drivers, and manage urgent loads. You will maintain driver contact, verify permits, and monitor truck locations to minimize delays.

This role requires US citizenship, a valid driver's license, a high school diploma or GED, and entry-level experience in transportation operations. Works in an office/shop environment with exposure to hazardous equipment and high-volume activity.

Qualifications

• Must be a United States citizen.
• Must have a current motor vehicle driver's license.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of six months specific experience demonstrating relevant knowledge.
• May substitute one year of experience for one year of high school.
• Must receive training for movement of HAZMAT and radioactive substances to ensure awareness of required permits.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Direct routing for trucks from 1 ½ ton single axle to 26,000-pound tractor-trailer rigs.
• Maintain routing direction/map files to ensure prompt pickups and deliveries.
• Ensure loads requiring permits have them prior to pickup and inform the driver.
• Monitor truck locations and movement via phone/radio to avoid delays.
• Report and receive direction via radio or cell phone.
• May be assigned to other work centers/tasks during periods of light demand.
• Perform other position-related duties as assigned.
