Job summary

Amentum's Dispatcher role coordinates transport requests by phone or radio and schedules drivers to meet demand in a priority sequence. You maintain contact with drivers about location and ETA, coordinate permits, and direct routing for a range of truck configurations.

You will monitor movements to prevent delays, report directions via radio or phone, and may be assigned to other tasks when demand is light. Amentum emphasizes safety, quality, and contract compliance in this role.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with valid driver’s license (per job requirements).
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum six months of relevant experience.
• Training for movement of HAZMAT and radioactive substances.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Direct routing for trucks from 1 1/2 ton to 26,000-pound tractor-trailer configurations.
• Keep routing maps/files to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
• Ensure permits for loads are obtained and communicate obligations to drivers.
• Monitor truck locations and movements via radio/phone to avoid delays.
• Report and receive direction via radio or cellular phone.
• May be assigned to other work centers/tasks during light demand.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
