Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Dispatcher in Ogden, Utah to coordinate transport requests by phone or radio and schedule drivers in priority order. You will monitor truck locations, ensure permits are obtained, and communicate with drivers to minimize delays.

This position operates under the Service Contract Act with an hourly pay structure and potential overtime. A valid US driver's license, HS diploma or GED, and the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Must be a United States citizen.
• Must have a current motor vehicle driver's license.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of six months specific experience which demonstrates knowledge required to perform duties of position.
• May substitute one year of specific experience for one year of high school.
• Must receive training for movement of HAZMAT and radioactive substances to ensure awareness of special permits required as requests for service are called in/received.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Directs routing for trucks from 1 ½ ton single axle to 26,000-pound tractor-trailer combination rigs.
• Keeps routing direction/map files to ensure driver scheduled pick up and deliveries are expeditious.
• Ensures permits for loads requiring them are obtained prior to driver picking up load and conveys information to driver.
• Monitors truck locations and movement through constant phone/radio contact to ensure delays are avoided.
• Reports and receives direction via radio or cellular phone.
• May be assigned to other work centers/tasks during periods of light demand.
• Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
