Job summary

VCNA United Materials, part of Votorantim Cimentos North America, seeks a dispatch professional in the New York area to execute daily plans using COMMAND dispatch, coordinate with drivers, plants and customers, and optimize productivity. You will work independently under the dispatch supervisor while adhering to company policies.

The role requires strong communication, problem solving, and knowledge of DOT rules; CDL is helpful but not required, with a competitive salary and growth opportunities

Qualifications

• Prior experience in Dispatch in a relevant industry.
• HS Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Existing CDL helpful but not required
• Valid Driver’s License required
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations preferred

Responsibilities

• Accurately and timely dispatches trucks at proper rate and plant, ensure trucks are statusing properly, that GPS is properly functioning, verifies instructions for drivers and provides general directions/jobsite references
• Reviews upcoming loads within district to ensure accuracy and timeliness, minimizes lateness within district, modifies existing orders as determined by dispatch manager
• Assists in managing start of day and end of day, minimizing ‘slack’ time
• Assist with exceptions and re-route suggestions within district, working closely with plants and dispatch manager
• Modifies existing orders as determined by dispatch manager
• Drives district’s KPIs and compliance within district, follow best practices to meet the goals of the plants and dispatch department
• Employ the COMMAND track dispatch software to ensure that service level, productivity and material costs are balanced in an optimal fashion across district. Consider system tuning parameters, diagnose configuration issues, and provide feedback on tuning the system. Ensure dispatch, batch and tracking systems are used to their highest potential and employees are fully engaged
