Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Dispatch Coordinator for our transportation team. The role focuses on driver dispatch operations, schedule maintenance, and ensuring DOT compliance in a fast-paced environment.

You will prepare records, assemble route packets, and maintain schedules while communicating with drivers, customers, and managers to resolve variances and keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required with strong reading and math skills.
• Experience with PeopleSoft or similar HR/dispatch systems preferred.
• Proficiency in Windows, Excel, Word and Access helps scheduling.
• Minimum 2 years in a similar dispatch role or related field.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily records and memos; maintain Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports filing.
• Assemble transportation pouches with route manifests, invoices, and notices.
• Create and update daily driver and helper dispatch schedules.
• Ensure DOT hours of service compliance for drivers.
• Set up daily tractor/trailer assignments and verify equipment roadworthiness.
• Call customers to inform delivery variances and update manifests.
• Provide timely reports to supervisor and communicate dispatch issues.
