Job summary

Rancho Santa Fe Association is seeking a dishwasher/steward for the newly renovated restaurant. The role ensures all dishes and kitchenware are cleaned and stored properly and supports a clean, organized kitchen according to the cleaning schedule.

Responsibilities include washing by machine or hand, cleaning surfaces, monitoring supplies, disposing of waste, inspecting equipment, and following food safety regulations. Must have a food handler certificate and be able to stand for long periods.

Newly Renovated Restaurant at Rancho Santa Fe Association

Date: Monday, September 28 from 12:00pm-6:00pm

Tuesday, September 29 from 9:00am -12:00pm and 4:00pm - 7:00pm

POSITION SUMMARY:

The dishwasher/steward is responsible for ensuring all dishes, pot, pans, and other kitchenware are cleaned and stored properly, as well as maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. The steward is responsible for following the cleaning schedule, disposing of waste, and inspecting kitchen equipment.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Washing dishes, glasses, silverware, pots, pans, and other kitchenware using dishwashing machines or by hand.
• Thoroughly cleaning all kitchen surfaces, including stoves, ovens, refrigerators, grills, counters, floors, and equipment.
• Monitoring kitchen supplies and inventory levels, restocking as needed, and reporting any shortages to the kitchen manager.
• Creating and following a cleaning schedule for the kitchen, ensuring all areas are cleaned regularly.
• Properly disposing of food waste and kitchen debris.
• Inspecting kitchen equipment for proper functioning and reporting any issues to the kitchen manager.
• Adhering to all food safety regulations and standards.
• Properly handling cleaning chemicals according to safety guidelines.
• Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen workspace.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to thoroughly clean and sanitize all kitchen surfaces and equipment.
• Capability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work effectively with other kitchen staff members.
• Efficiently completing cleaning tasks within designated timeframes.
• Understanding of proper cleaning procedures and chemical usage.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices; must have food handlers certificate.

RATE OF PAY: $22-$23/hr.
