Job summary

Meriwether Godsey, Inc. is hiring a Full-time Utility Steward/Dishwasher at Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. You’ll help maintain a clean, safe kitchen and support dining services for students and staff.

Responsibilities include operating the dish machine, sanitizing items, stocking supplies, and following food safety standards. The role requires morning, evening, and weekend availability and pays $14 per hour; benefits include uniforms, meals, and health/dental/vision coverage.

Qualifications

• Must be available to work mornings, nights, and weekends.
• Ability to measure products and convert units is not required here.
• Reliability and willingness to work in a hot environment is important.
• Adherence to food safety and sanitation procedures is essential.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the dish machine for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, trays, silverware, glassware, pots, and pans: scrape, separate, and organize items
• Note and record dish-machine temperatures, reporting low temperatures or machine malfunctions immediately
• Transport related supplies and assist in the setup of dining and serving areas
• Clean cafeteria and serving areas throughout and after the meal period, and replenish to ensure service without interruption
• Set up and use a three-compartment sink for cleaning and sanitizing pots and pans
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and cafeteria areas, including sweeping, mopping floors, and removal of trash
• Assist with the receiving and storage of food products and food preparation, following correct food handling procedures to ensure food safety
• Perform all duties in accordance with food safety and sanitation best practices
• Other duties, as assigned
