Job summary

Meriwether Godsey, Inc. is hiring a Utility Steward/Dishwasher for a full-time, 9‑month term in Gill, MA. The role includes evening shifts to support dinner service, with a pay rate of $19 per hour and benefits such as meals and uniforms.

Responsibilities include operating the dish machine, maintaining sanitation, and assisting with dining area setup and stocking. The team focuses on safety, quality, and guest service in a fast-paced campus dining environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Previous utility/dishwasher experience required.
• Ability to measure products and convert units of measure.
• Awareness of commercial kitchen equipment and how to perform routine maintenance and cleaning.
• Reliability and willingness to work in a hot, humid environment.
• Good communication skills and a great attitude.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the dish machine for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, trays, silverware, glassware, pots and pans.
• Note and record dish-machine temperatures, reporting low temps or malfunctions immediately.
• Transport related supplies and assist in setup of dining and serving areas.
• Clean dining and serving areas during and after meals and replenish to ensure service without interruption.
• Set up and use a three-compartment sink for cleaning and sanitizing pots and pans.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas, including sweeping and mopping floors and removing trash.
• Assist with receiving and storing food products and food preparation following correct food handling procedures.
• Perform all duties according to food safety and sanitation best practices.
• Other duties, as assigned.
