Job summary

Valor Hospitality Partners is seeking a Steward/Dishwasher for The Valley Hotel, Curio by Hilton, in the Birmingham area. The role offers full or part-time hours in a kitchen environment, with emphasis on sanitation and efficient dish room operation.

Responsibilities include cleaning, loading/unloading dishware, operating the machine, and maintaining equipment while adhering to health standards; education is minimal, and prior experience is preferred. Benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Education: Some high school or equivalent experience.
• Experience: Previous experience preferred.
• Skills: Ability to read meters and controls; follow written or verbal instructions; handle dishes and equipment with care.

Responsibilities

• Gather dirty dishware from tubs, rinse and stack in dish racks, and clear leftovers and trash.
• Load full dish racks on belt and place them for automated washing; operate the dishwasher as instructed.
• Add detergents and regulate output to the machine by adjusting controls.
• Manually scrub pots, pans, and equipment that cannot be washed automatically and dry by hand.
• Polish all silver, stainless steel, and pewter used in food service to present clean equipment.
• Maintain dishwashing equipment per manufacturers’ instructions to prolong life and stay compliant.
• Keep the dish room clean and orderly by sweeping, mopping, and organizing shelves.
• Mop kitchen floors at end of shift and clean all surfaces as scheduled.
• Gather and empty trash cans; keep loading dock and kitchen entrances safe.
• Ensure safety of associates and purveyors by clearing litter and debris.
