Job summary

Newspring-Church in Spartanburg is seeking a full-time Discipleship Ministry Leader to empower volunteers and shepherd groups, classes, and partnerships. You will collaborate with the Discipleship Director to create environments for growth in Scripture and prayer, backed by data tracking and a strong pastoral orientation.

Qualifications

• Full-time role with a 40 hr/wk schedule.
• Housing allowance eligible.
• No college degree required; relevant ministry experience considered.
• Hours may shift for baptisms, membership launches and events.

Responsibilities

• Execute discipleship missions and standards across campus.
• Oversee Discipleship adult opportunities: Groups, Classes, Partnerships.
• Lead environments for growth through Scripture, prayer, and community.
• Recruit, train, and empower leaders to fulfill Membership Covenant.
• Collaborate with Guest Services, KidSpring, Worship Arts, and others.
• Track rosters, attendance, baptisms, engagement, and leaders using Rock.
• Maintain relationships with campus and state Discipleship counterparts.
• Uphold church staff standards per Policies and Procedures Handbook.
• Lead Women’s Discipleship and Baptism/Membership pathways.
• Coordinate Discipleship Semester Launches with leadership teams.
• Onboard and care for Discipleship volunteers and area leaders.
• Ensure timely connections and next steps for participants.
• Evaluate systems and indicators; adjust as needed.
• Provide pastoral care and escalation when needed.
• Partner with campus team to strengthen and expand discipleship.
