Job summary

OU Health is seeking an Experienced RN - Discharge Nurse for the Adult House Admin to provide high-quality care in a hospital setting. The RN I/II/III will support discharge planning, collaborate with physicians, and ensure accurate documentation and patient education during hospitalization and at discharge.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Experience: 0-3 years of patient care as an RN.
• License/Certification: RN license and Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Aligns behaviors with OU Health values and professional practice standards.
• Documents patient responses and changes in physician orders.
• Assists physician in examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Obtains and monitors patient data and intervenes when necessary.
• Administers medications as prescribed.
• Initiates and monitors IV infusions and blood products.
• Delivers safe and competent patient care.
• Resolves patient complaints per policy and collaborates with staff.
• Informs patient/family about procedures and discharge plans.
• Delivers referrals for patient care needs and maintains mentorship.
• Maintains professional certification/licensure and pursues growth.
• Develops a career plan aligned with enterprise metrics.
• Fosters an inclusive workforce and delegates tasks appropriately.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
