Job summary

BMS CAT, a national leader in disaster restoration, seeks a Project Director to estimate mitigation and construction work across residential and commercial losses. You will partner with insurance carriers, adjusters, and owners to ensure accurate scopes, competitive pricing, and profitable execution.

This role blends technical estimating with relationship-driven B2B sales and marketing, building a referral pipeline and supporting marketing efforts.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on estimating experience with commercial losses
• Xactimate experience required; time & materials estimating preferred
• Proven ability to build B2B relationships and generate repeat referral business
• Demonstrated sales mindset: follow-up discipline, pipeline management and growth focus
• Comfort supporting marketing efforts (presentations, networking, customer meetings)

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer emergency losses with urgency, professionalism, and ownership to secure the opportunity and position the company as the provider of choice
• Prepare accurate, competitive estimates from thorough site inspections using industry-standard software
• Collaborate with operations to support smooth handoffs, job starts, scope alignment and supplements with proper approvals and documentation
• Provide the customer with daily project updates, resolve issues to ensure completion and timely payment, coordinate with insurance adjusters and consultants
• Build and maintain long-term referral relationships with adjusters, brokers, consultants, property managers, and commercial stakeholders
• Serve as a trusted partner by communicating clearly, responding quickly, and solving problems proactively
• Drive new business through networking, prospecting, and strengthening the referral pipeline
• Attend industry events to create visibility and opportunities
• Support and participate in marketing presentations, lunch-and-learns, and capability meetings
• Focus on revenue growth, customer experience, and profit performance
