Job summary

Samaritan's Purse in North Wilkesboro, NC, is seeking an Assistant Program Manager to join the North American Disaster Relief team. You will work with the Program Manager to support homeowners, volunteers, and site leadership, advancing both spiritual and physical relief efforts.

The role emphasizes ministry, safety briefings, and collaboration with churches and government partners. A four-year degree and relevant experience enable you to guide teams, manage resources, and respond to changing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2–3 years related experience or an equivalent combination
• Ability to obtain a Class A restricted driver's license and a valid DOT Medical Card
• General knowledge of construction and chainsaw use
• General knowledge of Excel and Word; ability to learn in-house software
• Excellent written and public speaking skills
• Ability to work under pressure with limited resources
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions
• Biblical Studies credits (12 hours) or plan to complete upon hire

Responsibilities

• Assist the Program Manager with all aspects of the response, focusing on homeowners, Site Leadership, and volunteers
• Meet spiritual and physical needs of homeowners
• Develop and implement a volunteer training plan; conduct safety briefings for large audiences
• Foster relationships with churches, government agencies and other relief organizations
• Recruit churches and local leaders to participate in disaster recovery
• Maintain awareness of disaster activity across the US and monitor weather
• Oversee inventory, financial transactions, and reporting; lead staff meetings
• Other duties as assigned
