Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator to support FEMA Public Assistance and disaster recovery programs. You will develop accurate, defensible cost estimates for infrastructure restoration, emergency, and permanent work, reviewing input from engineers, architects, and contractors.

The role is on-call, with assignments that may be remote, field-based, or hybrid depending on client needs and project requirements. Travel may be required to disaster sites and client offices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in construction estimating or related discipline.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, material, and construction costs.
• Experience developing conceptual, parametric, and detailed cost estimates for infrastructure or facilities.
• Familiarity with modern construction practices, project scope development, and inspections.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Support FEMA Public Assistance and disaster recovery programs through project scoping, damage assessment, and cost estimating.
• Review engineering reports, plans, specs, and cost documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare cost estimates for labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and general conditions.
• Develop documentation suitable for audit and program review.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, environmental specialists, grant professionals, and contractors.
