Job summary

Tetra Tech, Inc. is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator to support FEMA Public Assistance and other disaster recovery programs. You will develop accurate, defendable cost estimates for infrastructure restoration and emergency work, evaluating damaged facilities and validating project scopes.

This on-call, as-needed role may involve remote, field-based, or hybrid assignments across the United States. Strong collaboration with engineers, architects, and contractors is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in construction estimating or related field.
• Experience developing conceptual, parametric, and detailed cost estimates for infrastructure or facility projects.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, material, and construction costs.
• Familiarity with modern construction practices, facility assessments, project scope development, and construction inspection activities.
• Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Ability to travel as needed for field assignments.

Responsibilities

• Support FEMA Public Assistance and other disaster recovery programs through project scoping, damage assessment, and cost estimating activities.
• Prepare labor, equipment, materials, subcontractor, and general conditions cost estimates.
• Develop and validate disaster recovery project scopes and eligibility.
• Provide technical estimating expertise to project managers and site teams.
• Maintain project records and supporting documentation per client requirements.
