Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator for its Disaster Recovery Cadre to support FEMA Public Assistance and other recovery programs. You will develop accurate, defensible cost estimates for infrastructure restoration, emergency work, and permanent work projects, spanning field inspections to documentation for audit readiness.

This on-call, as-needed role may involve remote, field-based, or hybrid assignments across the United States.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in construction estimating, engineering, or related field.
• Experience developing cost estimates for infrastructure or facilities.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, materials, and costs.
• Familiarity with modern construction practices and project scopes.
• Ability to travel for field assignments.

Responsibilities

• Support FEMA PA and other disaster recovery programs with scoping and cost estimating.
• Develop and validate project scopes and cost estimates.
• Prepare conceptual, parametric, and bottom-up cost estimates.
• Review engineering plans, specs, and cost documentation.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to define eligible work and requirements.
• Maintain project records and documentation per requirements.
