Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking experienced Cost Estimators for the Disaster Recovery Cadre to support FEMA Public Assistance and other recovery programs across the United States.

You will develop accurate, defensible cost estimates for infrastructure restoration, emergency work, and permanent work projects, while collaborating with engineers, architects, and program staff. This on-call cadre role may be remote, field-based, or hybrid depending on client needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in construction estimating or related fields.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, materials, and construction costs.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and travel for field deployments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform project scoping, damage assessment, and cost estimating for disaster recovery.
• Review engineering plans, specifications, and cost documentation for accuracy.
• Develop conceptual, parametric, and bottom-up cost estimates.
• Coordinate with applicants, engineers, and program staff to define eligible work.
• Maintain clear, defensible cost documentation suitable for audits.
