Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator to join our Disaster Recovery Cadre. You will develop accurate, defensible cost estimates for infrastructure restoration, emergency, and permanent work across FEMA Public Assistance and related programs.

This on-call role supports disaster recovery efforts after hurricanes, floods, and other declared disasters. Assignments may be remote, field-based, or hybrid depending on client needs and project requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of professional cost estimating experience.
• Experience with conceptual, parametric, and detailed cost estimates.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, material, and construction costs.
• Familiar with modern construction practices and site assessments.
• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness to travel and ability to work independently.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Support FEMA PA and other disaster recovery programs with cost estimating.
• Perform site inspections and assess damages for cost estimation.
• Develop conceptual, parametric, and bottom-up estimates.
• Prepare cost analyses for roads, bridges, facilities.
• Review engineering plans, proposals, and cost documentation.
• Produce well-documented estimates suitable for audit.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Assist with RFIs and recovery program activities.
