Job summary

The St. Louis Salvation Army is seeking a Disaster Recovery Services - DRS Construction Manager in St. Louis, MO. This full-time role supports disaster recovery with project assessments, detailed scope development, and coordination of repair/rebuild efforts to ensure safety and compliance.

Travel extensively in the St. Louis Region and Central Missouri; grant-funded for 12 months with potential extension based on funding. Starting salary $68,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 3-5 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, permitting requirements, and construction standards.
• Ability to manage and supervise multiple construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Disaster Case Managers during home visits to assess damage and prepare costed scopes of work for repair/rebuild projects.
• Review homeowner agreements and obtain consent prior to construction start.
• Ensure projects have clear, detailed, and approved scopes of work.
• Build relationships with inspectors and stay informed on building codes and techniques.
• Coordinate with county/city departments to comply with local regulations.
• Secure materials, equipment, and tools for repairs/rebuilds.
• Coordinate volunteers, contractors, and inspectors to meet timelines; travel across the St. Louis region and Central Missouri.
