Job summary

The Salvation Army St. Louis is seeking a DRS Construction Manager to apply expertise in managing disaster recovery repair and rebuild projects. You will work with Disaster Case Managers to assess damage, develop detailed scopes of work with cost estimates, and oversee construction to ensure safety and compliance.

Responsibilities include coordinating with inspectors, securing materials, and guiding volunteers and contractors. The role requires travel in the St.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or three to five years of related experience or training.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, permitting requirements, and construction standards.
• Demonstrated ability to manage, direct, and supervise multiple construction projects effectively.
• Proficiency in standard office functions, including computer use, phone communication, and related administrative tasks.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Disaster Case Managers during home visits to conduct damage assessments and prepare cost estimates for repair projects.
• Review homeowner agreements to ensure understanding and consent before construction begins.
• Ensure each project has a clear scope of work and is completed in compliance with codes and regulations.
• Build relationships with building inspectors and stay informed on codes and construction practices.
• Coordinate with county and city building departments to ensure compliance during repairs/rebuilds.
• Secure materials and equipment for projects and coordinate volunteers and contractors.
• Travel extensively throughout the St. Louis Region and Central Missouri to oversee projects.
