Job summary

Diocese is seeking a Disaster Case Manager to work directly with individuals and families affected by disasters, assessing needs and guiding them to recovery resources. The role serves as the primary contact to ensure access to necessary assistance and re-establishment of normalcy after a disaster.

Travel may be involved and the position is limited duration to address short-term needs. The role requires at least a bachelor’s degree, strong communication and case management skills, and English

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferred; additional experience may substitute.
  • Intermediate computer and technology skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize and communicate effectively with staff, volunteers and the public.
  • Fluency in English (reading, writing and speaking); Spanish may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake interviews and assess needs; provide advocacy and referrals.
  • Connect participants with recovery programs, housing, food banks and mental health support.
  • Verify eligibility for disaster relief programs and assist with applications.
  • Collaborate with disaster response organizations and government agencies for coordinated service delivery.
  • Provide ongoing case coordination; develop case and financial plans; may conduct home visits.
  • Complete reports and maintain participant records; prepare required documentation.
