Job summary

Catholic Charities Diocese of Charlotte is seeking a Disaster Case Manager to work directly with individuals and families affected by a natural disaster. You will assess needs, connect clients with resources, and guide them through recovery, serving as a primary contact to ensure access to required assistance.

This limited-duration role supports short-term recovery initiatives and requires coordination with partner organizations, agencies, and community networks to deliver comprehensive services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred; additional experience beyond the required may be accepted in lieu of a college degree.
• Must have intermediate computer and technology skills.
• Ability to participate in program planning and organization; work and communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, clientele, and the public; promote Agency programs and provide public relations; participate in peer review; and prepare correspondence, records and reports.
• Position requires fluency in the English language (reading, writing and speaking). Proficiency in Spanish may be required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake interviews and assess needs; provide advocacy and referrals.
• Connect participants with FEMA, housing grants, food banks, and mental health support.
• Verify eligibility for disaster relief programs and assist with applications.
• Collaborate with disaster response organizations, government agencies, and community partners to coordinate services.
• Develop case plans, coordinate services, and conduct occasional home visits as needed.
• Maintain required reports and participant records; support data collection and program documentation.
• Represent the program and agency in the community and assist with planning and quality improvement.
