Job summary

The Office of the Attorney General is seeking an Emergency Disaster Response Training Coordinator to develop, review, and coordinate the agency’s continuity of operations plan (COOP) before, during, and after emergencies. The role includes training, exercises, and ensuring mission-critical functions continue with minimal disruption.

Responsibilities cover policy development, training delivery, stakeholder coordination, and annual COOP updates in line with FEMA/FDEM requirements.

Qualifications

• Seven years of professional experience developing, delivering, and providing formal training.

Responsibilities

• Respond immediately and effectively during emergency incidents to ensure COOP is executed and mission-essential functions continue.
• Develop and deliver agency policies, procedures, and training related to COOP and emergency responses.
• Coordinate and facilitate meetings with stakeholders to update COOP annually per FDEM rules.
• Research, develop and deliver classes, courses, workshops, and seminars; establish computer-based training programs.
• Set up rooms for trainings and training-supported meetings.
• Coordinate COOP Response Team members before, during, and after activation.
• Coordinate COOP training exercise scenarios annually.
• Deliver emergency disaster training for personal and family preparedness annually for all employees.
• Complete FEMA ICS courses for Initial Response.
• Network with local, state, and federal agencies to deliver high-quality emergency plan.
• Maintain alternate facility operations and resources with leadership teams.
• Travel as needed and work outside normal hours.
• Conduct other training duties as directed by Training & Development Bureau.
