Job summary

The Florida Office of the Attorney General is seeking an Emergency Disaster Response Training Coordinator in Tallahassee. The role develops, reviews, and coordinates the agency’s continuity of operations plan (COOP) to ensure mission-critical functions continue during all disasters.

Responsibilities include COOP review, training, and exercises to keep the plan current and executable, plus delivering classes, programs, and seminars and coordinating with stakeholders across the state.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience developing, delivering and providing formal training.
• Bachelor’s degree and three years of related training experience.
• Master’s degree in education, communication, technical writing, curriculum development or equivalent with two years of training experience.
• Doctorate with one year of training experience.
• 60 semester or 90 quarter hours including education/communication courses and six years of training experience.
• 720-classroom hour tech program with five years of training experience.

Responsibilities

• Respond immediately and effectively during emergencies to ensure COOP execution.
• Develop and deliver agency policies, procedures, and training related to COOP and emergency responses.
• Coordinate and facilitate meetings with stakeholders to annually update COOP as needed.
• Develop, deliver and maintain training programs, courses, workshops, and seminars.
• Assist in setting up rooms for trainings and training-supported meetings.
• Coordinate COOP Training Team members before, during, and after activation.

Education

Bachelor’s degree + 3 years related training exp.

Master’s degree in education/communication/curriculum development or equivalent

Doctorate in education/communication/curriculum development or equivalent

60 semester or 90 quarter hours incl. education/communication courses

720-classroom hour program in technology + 5 years training exp.

7 years of professional experience in developing/delivering formal training
