Job summary

American Red Cross in Miami-Dade is seeking a Community Disaster Program Manager to supervise disaster services programs in the region and to lead a staff and volunteer team focused on preparedness, response, and recovery.

The role requires coordinating with partners and deploying to disaster relief operations at least annually, with a focus on building capacity within communities and ensuring readiness across the district.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Responsibilities

• Empower Volunteers: Manage and support volunteers in disaster services programming.

• Lead the Program: Supervise staff and implement disaster cycle services activities.
•  
• Mission Capacity Building: Develop disaster volunteers and communities.
•  
• Engage Community: Prepare and mobilize communities and partners for disasters.
•  
• Manage in a Matrix: Collaborate with internal partners in a matrix setting.
•  
• Know Your Communities: Serve as local disaster subject matter expert in Miami-Dade area.
•  
• Ready to Respond: Initiate disaster relief operations aligned with CODSO.
