Job summary

The American Red Cross in Owensboro, KY is seeking a Community Disaster Program Specialist to guide and support volunteers delivering disaster relief and readiness programs. You will engage with partners and local communities to ensure rapid, equitable service.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree, 3+ years of related experience, a valid driver's license, and strong communication and coordination skills. After-hours work and regional deployments are possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR.
• Ability to coordinate staff and volunteer activities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Willingness to work outside regular hours including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Empower volunteers by leading a diverse team in disaster cycle services.
• Support program activities and ensure rapid, accessible service delivery.
• Engage disaster volunteers representative of the communities served.
• Collaborate with partners to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.
• Coordinate volunteer engagement targets and disaster action tasks in the geographic area.
