Job summary

The American Red Cross in Daytona Beach, FL is seeking a Community Disaster Program Specialist to guide and support volunteer teams delivering relief and care during disasters. You will build ongoing volunteer engagement and collaborate with staff to keep communities prepared and resilient.

Responsibilities include empowering volunteers, supporting program activities, and engaging with local partners to mobilize resources and respond effectively to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Empower Volunteers: Facilitate and support a diverse volunteer team responsible for disaster cycle services, ensuring rapid, accessible, and equitable delivery.
• Support the Program: Assist with successful implementation of disaster cycle services activities within a geographic area.
• Mission Capacity Building: Engage disaster volunteers who reflect the communities served, culturally and linguistically.
• Engage Community: Support local efforts to prepare and mobilize communities for disasters.
• Manage in a Matrix: Meet targets for volunteer engagement and disaster action team responses to local home fires.
• Know Your Communities: Act as local point of contact for partners and communities.
• Ready to Respond: Participate in disaster response operations after training.
