Job summary

Wake Technical Community College seeks a Manager for Disability Support Services to serve as the primary DSS contact for students, parents, faculty and staff. The role leads the DSS team and coordinates documentation, accommodations, and advocacy efforts across campus.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in a related field and at least two years of experience with students with disabilities, plus supervisory skills and knowledge of disability laws in higher education.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in disabilities or related field required.
• Minimum two years’ experience working with high school and/or college students with disabilities.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Knowledge of disability laws applicable to higher education.
• Strong leadership, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for DSS for students, parents, faculty and staff.
• Provide direct supervision for DSS staff and coordinators.
• Review incoming student documentation for completeness and communicate required documentation to students/parents.
• Lead DSS orientation workshops and educate stakeholders on disability issues.
• Advocate for student needs and promote self-advocacy skills among students.
