Job summary

Easterseals Hawaii is hiring a Service Supervisor in Kea'au, Hawaii. The role focuses on supervising Direct Support Workers and Activity Coordinators, coordinating with program managers, and promoting participant independence and community integration in ISP-driven activities.

The position requires a degree or equivalent experience in disability services, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle emergencies and data documentation. On-site work with occasional travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or education, or 1+ years experience with individuals with disabilities or elderly; or Hawaii RN license.
• High School diploma or GED and 2+ years experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
• Must have supervision by staff with specified criteria for six months.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a participant caseload and foster independence.
• Attend ISP meetings and other relevant meetings as required.
• Assist Program Manager in staff orientation, training, and performance evaluations.
• Assess participants’ independence to develop ISP-based objectives.
• Support community integration and participation in activities of the participant’s interest.
• Communicate with outside agencies to ensure services are offered and provided.
• Supervise Direct Support Workers and Activity Coordinators to ensure compliance and best practices.
• Oversee day-to-day participant activities per ISP safety protocols.
• Train DSWs to implement ISP and document progress notes.
• Review and approve GERs, mileage, timecards, and reimbursements.
• Intervene appropriately to manage behaviors with the behavior specialist support.
• Open/close facility duties; execute emergency procedures.
• Interpret and implement ESH policies; provide training.
• Maintain QA of charts; provide direct services as requested.
