Job summary

Easterseals Hawaii is seeking a Direct Support Professional to work with adults with disabilities in program, community, or home-based settings across Hawaii. You will promote independence, support daily living activities, and help participants grow skills in a respectful, empowering environment.

Training is provided; you will follow individualized plans, complete required paperwork on FoC platforms, attend department meetings, and report safety concerns promptly.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and respect privacy.
• Ability to work in program, community, or home-based settings.

Responsibilities

• Support participants to achieve the highest level of independence possible in pursuit of their definition of a “good life”
• Provide input and implement the participant’s Individual Plan.
• Follow organizational guidelines to promote health and safety.
• Monitor, respond to and report issues of concern to the Case Coordinator or other supervisor.
• Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities (toileting, dressing, feeding, etc.) as needed, while respecting privacy and confidentiality.
• Accurately complete participant-related data and documentation by the assigned deadline via a web-based platform.
• Submit timesheets, leave requests, required credentialing documents, training and other paperwork by the assigned deadline via FoC platforms.
• Attend and participate in department meetings and training as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe environment.
• Respond to emergencies per FoC procedures.
• Report safety concerns to supervisor.
• Handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
